We pick out eight of the top bars you’ll find in Dubai’s Business Bay

Best bars in Dubai's Business Bay 2019

This swanky VIP club from the US brings whole bunch of swagger and luxurious nights out. Its name is short for “one of a kind”, and adds to the city’s delightfully vast list of premium clubs and bars. Expect heaving music, some trippy, contemporary décor, sparklers in bottles and VIP tables lining a central dancefloor. This place is one of the trendiest night spots in town for a big night out.
Open Sun, Tue, Thu-Fri 10pm-3am. JW Marriott Dubai Business Bay (052 881 8888).

What a huge impact this luxurious superclub made when it arrived in Dubai, from Cannes, earlier this year – so much so that we hosted both the after-party of the 2018 Time Out Dubai Music & Nightlife Awards and our 50th anniversary party there. It’s dripping with gold, it hosts major international acts on a regular basis (with names so far including P Diddy, Martin Solveig, Flo Rida and more). And we’re hoping for a huge winter season
Open Wed-Fri 11pm-3am. Radisson Blu Dubai Waterfront Hotel, Business Bay (055 193 4934).

Hotel Cartagena

Arrive here and you’ll be immediately struck by the creative and colourful, jungle-inspired décor and backdrop, which extends throughout this lofty bar, which resides on the 72nd floor of the JW Marriott Dubai, Business Bay. This Latin American hotspot offers equally mesmeric views out the window – with huge, 360-degree bay windows dishing up spectacular vistas. This is one place you won’t want to leave.
Open daily 5.30pm-3am. JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, Business Bay (04 560 1799).

Seven Sisters

The outdoors terrace bar spent the summer months fine-tuning its trendy, comfy décor and getting ready to offer some big nights out, live music included. New DJs and live acts are ready to play in front of a stunning view out over the Dubai Water Canal, and a new glass pergola means you can party on inside.
Open Daily 6pm-3am. JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, Business Bay (056 775 4777).

The Backyard

It feels like this list is sort of turning into a list of bars with stunning vistas. From its position on the southern bank of the Dubai Water Canal, you’ll be treated to low-level views up at the towers of the neighbouring district and Downtown Dubai. This place is very casual, and while you’re hanging out in your shorts and t-shirt, take on your mates at some games on the games consoles while grabbing some food truck eats.
Open daily 5pm-3am. Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay (04 369 0000).

The Eloquent Elephant

A pretty special gastropub, The Eloquent Elephant, is a proper pub, dishing up classic English dishes with an Indian touch (in keeping with its hotel surroundings). There’s live sport showing on big screens, weekly quizzes, a daily happy hour, live music, and it’s also one of a growing list of non-smoking bars that are opening up across the city.
Open Sun-Thu noon-2am, Fri-Sat 11am-3am. Taj Dubai, Business Bay (04 438 3100).

This adorable spot, also found at Taj Dubai, is a wonderful al fresco spot in which to spend an evening watching the world go by. With stunning views of the Burj Khalifa, twinkling fairy lights wound across the trees, this gorgeous hangout is date-night worthy, and with something funky tunes pumping out throughout the evening, you’d be hard pressed to find a cooler, more chilled spot in the area.
Open Sat-Wed 7pm-2am, Thu-Fri 7pm-3am. Taj Dubai, Business Bay (058 527 2763).

Bridgewater Tavern
If you’re looking for a laid-back sports bar, with some decent grub, this Canal-side spot is a top choice, too. And now the weather’s cooler, why not pop outside to Café Artois to make the most of the terrace?
Open daily 4pm-2am. JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, Business Bay (04 414 3000).
