One of the biggest bands in electro will be gracing the stage of Dubai’s best pub (officially) next month, and this is a good reason to get excited.
Mark Thursday November 8 down in your diaries, because Caribou will be gracing the stage at The Irish Village, in what’s probably going to be one the best Thursday nights in town for some time, and you need to get your tickets now before they sell out.
If you’re in the mood for seeing out the week with a bit of a boogie at the place we crowned Pub of the Year at this year’s Time Out Dubai Music & Nightlife Awards, you have to check out this funky, trippy electro act.
If you have to get up to speed, listen to seminal album Swim, which producer Dan Snaith (the man behind Caribou) described as his attempt to create “liquid music”. It’s incredibly easy listening, but live this Grammy-nominated four-piece knows how to get a crowd going – that’s for sure. Fun fact: Caribou have even sold out the Sydney Opera House.
Fans of the FIFA video games will recognise this track – circa FIFA 2011. Ah the mems.
Time Out London even had this to say about Caribou album Our Love in 2014:
“One more reason to admire this underrated maestro – he’s made one of the most glorious and addictive albums of the year”
Caribou will be supported by up-and-coming six-piece RHYE – with both acts making their UAE debut at The Irish Village. Tickets are available now for Dhs249 (limited early bird), Dhs349 for general admission and Dhs449 for balcony views.
We cannot wait for this.
From Dhs249. Thu Nov 8, doors 8pm. Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, Garhoud, www.platinumlist.net.
