If you’re the kind of person who normally makes dinner reservations for 10pm, you already know about Bagatelle. If you’re not, chances are you’ve missed out on one of the liveliest meals of your Dubai dining career. It’s time to neck an espresso and get down to this French restaurant, which goes from relaxed bistro (don’t miss the escargot) to dancing on chairs as the hour grows late.

La Cantine Du Faubourg
Cool lounge vibe, sprawling terrace and live entertainment – La Cantine nails French chic. Then steps it up a notch. Book a table for 10pm when the restaurant really comes into its own, with singers and musicians wandering the room belting out upbeat tunes while you tuck into the sublime beef short rib.
Open Sun-Wed noon-2am, Thu-Fri noon-3am, Sat noon-6pm, 8pm-2am. Jumeirah Emirates Towers, DIFC (04 352 7105).
Fusing dancehall vibes with Caribbean cafeteria décor, this seriously intimate, drop-dead-cool Jamaican restaurant is one of the funkiest joints in town. The music’s brilliant, the food is superb, and the drinks are a whole load of fun. Little wonder the atmosphere is absolutely buzzing.
Open Sat, Sun & Tue 7pm-1am; Mon 7pm-2am; Wed-Fri 7pm-3am. Sheraton Grand Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road (04 356 2900).
With live performances featuring contortionists, dancers, acrobats and more, this is a cool place to spend an evening. Don’t head here early – the club-restaurant doesn’t get busy until later, which is all the more reason to spend time dressing up, as this is a fancy place. The food is actually surprisingly good for what is predominantly a nightlife venue and is an Italian-Japanese mish-mash. As the hour gets late the dining room gets livelier, and if you’re not dancing around the tables by close you’re doing it wrong.
Open Tue-Sun 7pm-3am. Taj Dubai, Business Bay (04 510 3100).
Dining at this cool global chain is always going to be special. Not only is it our Best Latin American Restaurant 2019, it’s also a whole load of fun. There’s a trendy bar to start off in, before wolfing down some zesty ceviche and stellar tableside guac. However, it’s later into the evening that the vibe really picks up here with people getting to their feet for an impromptu party. It also does a top grown-up brunch every Friday that’s tonnes of fun – expect waiters to dance on the tables and plenty of napkin swinging.
Open Mon-Wed 12.30pm-1.30am,Thu-Sat 12.30pm-2am; Sun noon-1.30pm. Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach (04 316 9600).
