Barasti is on the hunt for Dubai’s next great musician

Calling all live music fans. Think you can give Simon Cowell a run for his money when it comes to having an eye for undiscovered talent?

Okay, so it’s not exactly The X Factor but we suspect it’ll be just as lively and fun.

Barasti’s summer pop-up ‘House of Whatever’ is launching a month-long acoustic competition, Beam Unplugged - and you can be in the audience when the winning contestant is crowned.

“Beam Unplugged will provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity for talented up-and-coming musicians to be exposed to a large audience and land a gig as Barasti resident. This is something new for Barasti, and we’re excited to see the place come alive with some real local talent. We encourage everyone to get down to House of Whatever every Tuesday to cheer on their favourite act,” said Phil Hardie, Assistant Director Food and Beverage at the Mina Seyahi Complex.

Running weekly from Tuesday June 11 until Tuesday July 2, 12 undiscovered acoustic musicians will battle it out in the hopes of winning a residency at the popular live music venue along with cash prizes.

The singers will be scored out of 10 by three industry judges, and a little crowd enthusiasm – so get ready to head on down to cheer on your favourite, it'll make a big difference.

Can’t get enough of live music? Here’s our pick of the best live music venues around the city.

We’re also seeing a brand-new resident act hitting the city’s Best Live Music Venue (officially, according to the Time Out Dubai Music & Nightlife Awards 2019).
Tue 9pm-10pm, until Tue Jul 2. Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Al Sufouh (04 318 1313).
