Cricket fever has officially taken Dubai by storm with the 12th edition of the sport's World Cup, which will be running until Sunday July 14.
Here we round up the top spots across the city where you catch all the matches, along with some cracking deals...
Bur Dubai bar Bar Baar (try saying that quickly) is serving up a special menu to coincide with the Cricket World Cup 2019. There are 10 different platters to choose from and each one is themed around a participating country. From the West Indies platter that comes with a kidney bean salad, a cheese omelette and Jamaican jerk chicken, to the Australian platter with lamb burger, garlic prawns and assorted veggies, whatever takes your fancy, you’ll find it here. Drinks are reasonable, and every Tuesday they cost just Dhs10 for eight hours between 7pm and 3am as part of Wholesale Night, where music is spun out by the resident DJ.

Catch the cricket from the famed air-conditioned summer tent at this massive, sprawling beach bar. During the bigger matches you can get three selected drinks for Dhs100.

What’s not to enjoy when you can catch the cricket with a pint for Dhs21? This comprehensive sports bar in Bur Dubai has a daily happy hour from noon until 8pm with 50 percent off drinks and food, and a load more bargainous deals. Get buckets of five selected hops ranging from Dhs150 to Dhs170 or four pints and a meal for Dhs170. There are a dozen screens lining the walls beaming out the matches and there’s even a PlayStation that comes complete with its own private (and enormous) screen.

BFF Gastro Bar & Lounge
This fun-loving bar in Jebel Ali has big screens for sports, a stage for live music, pool tables, dart boards, table football and some cracking deals to coincide with the cricket. Choose between the Captain’s Innings package of either five pints or four pints and one meal for Dhs175 or the Batman’s Bundle which is the same deal but for Dhs160 – the difference being the hops on offer are different in each package. If you opt for the four pints and a meal deal, you can chomp on either barbequed lamb skewers, meatball skewers or chicken skewers, the chicken burger or the BFF Burger – a wagyu beef patty served in brioche bun with traditional toppings and cheese.

This laidback Aussie venue is a popular spot to watch a game. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options including booths, long tables and seats at the bar – and prices are keen for the Palm (around Dhs40 for a decent glass of grape). Better still are some of the deals, including four drinks and a meal for just Dhs155 daily from noon-11pm.

With a mix of sofas and high up tables and wall-to-wall TVs beaming out the big games this is the perfect little spot to watch the cricket. You’ll be able to get your hands on two hops drinks plus a starter from the Indian menu for Dhs49 every day until the final on Sunday July 14. Alternatively you can get two hops and chicken wings for Dhs65.

There’s a new juniper-themed bar that’s opened in Bur Dubai, and it’s already offering up a bunch of brilliant deals, particularly during the Cricket World Cup. There’s also happy hour on the entire first innings of the match (which for day-matches takes place roughly between 1.30pm and 5.30pm), on top of its regular happy hour running between 4pm and 7pm where you can get juniper mixed drinks for half price. Then until the end of the match there’s 20 percent off as well, so you can’t go wrong.

This is a sprawling bar and rooftop terrace that’s teeming with sport nuts watching the big game. A strong happy hour that takes place daily from 4pm until 8pm with a two-for-one deal on selected drinks, plenty of TVs, strong pub grub and friendly staff make garden on 8 a top spot for the cricket.

This Barsha Heights bar has plenty of screens lining its narrow walls, a couple of free-to-play pool tables and a daily buy-one-get-one-free happy hour from noon until 8pm.

This new Indian restaurant not only serves up quirky Indian fusion dishes (think Thai curry hummus, butter chicken risotto and masala poutine) but it’s also serving up the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. During all the cricket matches guests can get selected drinks for Dhs29, hops for Dhs39 and if you get hungry there's also a vegetarian kebab platter for Dhs59 or meatier variations for Dhs69.

Set at the far end of The Walk, JBR, JB’s Gastropub is nestled behind a hedge just off the main thoroughfare – meaning it’s usually busy, attracting both tourists and JBR residents. With a decent selection of hops and short beverages, and it’s the ideal place to pull up a stool by the bar, or at one of the high barrels, and watch the cricket. In the spirit of the game, JB’s has a special menu of bar bites and snacks from some of the participating nations which guests can enjoy with deals on hops or a bottle of spirit or choose to delight in the food and beverage combos. Bar bites range from Dhs69 to Dhs79 and include a steak and cheese pie, fish and chips and a Jamaican jerk chicken patty. Wash them down a bucket of five bottled hops for Dhs139 or four pints for Dhs170. There’s also some class food and drink combos to take your pick from.

Kickers Sports Bar
Kickers has been popular with residents in the area for years, boasting indoor and outdoor seating, huge screens to watch live sport and more. Sports fans are catered for first and foremost here and there’s a good happy hour deal that takes place daily from 3pm until 7pm and offers a 33 percent discount on selected food items and drinks. You can also get either five pints or four pints plus a meal from Dhs195 or buckets of selected hops from Dhs195.

Catch the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 from the JBR incarnation of this top quality Irish haunt. Not only is it smoke-free throughout, but every day of the week you’ll be able to get beverages from Dhs25, from 4pm until 8pm and until 9pm on Thursdays and on Mondays you can get two-for-one on all main courses from 5pm until 10pm.

The big space – inside and out – never fails to draw in the crowds. And, the atmosphere only intensifies when the big games are shown. Head to JLT’s favourite Irish bar from Saturday to Thursday and you’ll be able to get drinks from Dhs30 from noon until 8pm, and until 9pm on Thursdays.

Head to Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Festival City Mall and Dragon Mart 2 to catch the matches live from the big screen at Novo Cinemas with tickets starting from Dhs52.50.
Fancy catching the match on the biggest indoor screen in Dubai Marina and JBR? Offside, which recently replaced the much-loved Girders Garden, offers up what appears to be the complete sports bar experience. Of course, you’ll get a whole bunch of pub grub, but there’s also a whopping great, 200-inch screen dominating one side of the venue. There are also eight other big screens around the bar, showing pretty much every single bit of live sport going, including the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. You can also get drinks from Dhs26 to Dhs32 on a daily basis, firstly from 4pm until 9pm, and then again from midnight until 1am, as well as a load of other drinks deals.

This all-American bar in Souk Madinat Jumeirah is one of the city’s most laid-back all-American bars – with a spacious terrace overlooking the waterways to boot. A good selection of offers makes it an ideal spot to watch the matches with a few drinks with friends. Get select drinks pitchers for Dhs99, a special sharing sports platter with wings, ribs, barbeque nachos and sliders for Dhs99 and every Wednesday you can also get unlimited chicken wings for Dhs99. Looking for somewhere different to kick back and catch the cricket? Grab your home country’s flag and head to Shades at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa. The upbeat sports bar has huge screens both indoors and outdoors and is offering up some top hops deals to coincide with the matches. Get a 1.5-litre tower of select hops for Dhs100, a three-litre tower for Dhs200 or four bottles of select hops for Dhs145 – all of which come with a portion of snacks.

There are two parts to this pub: the classic, nooks-and-crannies, dark wood-lined bar with manual pumps and a big screen showing the match, and the shinier, newer bit that’s got bar sports and tellies. This Palm gastropub is a top choice to watch the matches with your mates. There are TV screens dotted around and a massive screen on the other side of the bar, which takes up one whole wall. It’s perfect if you don’t want to miss any of the action. They’ve also got a few cracking deals on for the cricket – you can get a sharing starter platter, a bucket of five hops cans or ‘The World Cup Burger’ and a pint, all of which come in at a pocket-friendly Dhs99.
