Brand-new Dubai bars to check out

Dubai's winter season has arrived, and with it brings heaps of new openings and things to do. We bring you some exciting new bars to check out this month.

A.E.R. Lounge & Bar
This new bar opened in Dubai’s DIFC in late September, promising an experience “laden with luxury”. And this is one massive bar, covering 20,000 sq ft. The venue is set over different areas, with different themes while sliding doors give way to a massive terrace and a huge, 100ft bar. There’s also an extravagant-sounding menu featuring Mediterranean and Japanese influences, with dishes including sashimi salad, shredded wagyu kulcha, Angus dim sum, flatbread and even gold sushi. Intriguing. On the drinks menu are inventive mixed drinks using ingredients such as saffron, popcorn and fresh fruits. Music-wise the bar plays deep house, commercial and R&B, so there’s plenty for everyone. It’s also promising affordable pricing with mixed drinks at around Dhs55. There’s also a ladies’ night every Tuesday where you’ll get three free drinks, and a happy hour with buy one, get one free drinks every day from 5pm until 8pm.
Open daily noon-4pm. Emirates Financial Towers, DIFC (04 268 7368).

Antika Bar
This popular Beirut party spot has opened its doors in Dubai’s DIFC. Expect modern Arabic cuisine along with entertainment, including singers, dancers, other live acts and a load of new nightly offerings. Located in Al Fattan Currency House, the bar’s interiors are inspired by the “hidden theatres” of 1950s Lebanon, filled with antique relics, rich details and a stage in the centre so all guests can watch the live shows without hassle.
Open daily 5pm-3am. Al Fattan Currency House, DIFC (050 735 9177).

O’Learys
Looking for something a little more casual? There’s a new Boston-themed bar in Dubai and if you love sports, O Leary’s is a decent bar in Dubai for you. Get ready for all-American food, drinks, plenty of TV screens, live music, deals and more. You can even get a Dhs15 pint every Sunday from 6pm until 9pm, which is a total bargain.
Open Sat-Wed noon-1am, Thu-Fri noon-3am. Hilton Dubai Creek, Deira (04 212 7570).

Roar
On the hunt for a new indoor spot to watch the sun go down with a creative mixed drink in hand? Well you’re in luck as new bar Roar opened last week at the popular FIVE Palm Jumeriah Dubai. Located on the 13th floor of the Palm Jumeirah hotel, Roar is an “crafted mixed drinks bar” and promises to be the perfect spot for sundowners as it’s offering up the first (and only) daily happy hour at the swanky hotel. From 5pm until 8pm enjoy a two-for-one offer on the entire menu of mixed drinks, grape, hops, house beverages and even bubbly. How very affordably fancy.

Originally named Caramel Restaurant and Lounge when it first opened in 2010, it’s now open on weekdays from 11am until 3am and weekend from 7pm, the restaurant can seat more than 400 guests in its indoor and outdoor space. With the renovation comes classy and chic interiors as well as a new menu, starring fusion dishes, sushi and more. There’s also live music and a Tuesday night ladies’ night with free-flowing drinks.

The Exit
This new Barsha Heights sports bar has a London-inspired design, and also claims to double up as a gastropub and lounge. Fancy a game of pool?
