Old-school pub in a central location

One of the best things about this sports bar and pub is its central location – meaning that you can gather mates from various ends of the city and still all make it in time to catch kick off.

Housed in the Metropolitan Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, this spacious old-school bar is the remake of one of Dubai’s oldest pubs.

The original opened in 1979, and was later demolished in 2012, along with the rest of the Metropolitan Hotel (although the original bar remains).

And what stands in its place is a modern version of a classic.

Cosy booths and low, faux beam-lined ceilings lend the room a snug, homely feel that even the swathes of unused space around the room can’t undermine, while the sheer volume of TV screens lining the walls means you’ll never have to crane your neck to catch the day’s match action.

It’s the home of Manchester United supporters in Dubai, so if you’re a fan then you have a new go-to spot right there. And during match days it gets busy, so expect a bustling vibe and plenty of fans.

There are plenty of deals, including a daily happy hour from 5pm until 8pm with buy one, get one free, the food isn’t half bad and there’s a welcoming vibe. If you visit on a Saturday you can make the most of a British roast, too.

Pull up a seat around the bar, order some snacks and get ready to cheer on the Reds.
