Time Out Says
With locations in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, all of which usually have a combination of A-listers draped across them on any given day, the Dubai branch is full of the swagger, the class and the air of exclusivity that you’d expect.
Open four nights a week, you’re bound to get your party fix either during the week or once you’ve clocked off work for another couple of days.
We visit on a weekend and, party animals take note, this place is for the night owls. Arrive before midnight and you may have an hour or so wait before 1 OAK gets full – but it does get extremely busy after then.
The interiors are cool and urban, and the décor is dark and moody.
When we enter, through the fantastically (verging on emphatically) lit hallway, we’re struck by how incredibly stylish this club is.
VIP tables litter the periphery, and you need one if you want to sit down at any point throughout the evening to rest those dancing feet. And that’s the one drawback of this place.
The club’s management call 1 OAK “opulent and exclusive”, and while drinks aren’t cheap, we’ve experienced more wallet-shocking prices around town – and we’re sure you have too.
With a DJ pumping out tunes to a fittingly glamorous audience, this is a Dubai superclubbing experience that’s got to be tried at least once.
The bottom line
A glamorous and VIP clubbing experience
