Dubai’s folly by Nick & Scott is popular for many a reason. It’s a former winner of Time Out Dubai’s Best European Restaurant Award, it has a super ladies’ night, there’s a stunning rooftop bar and it boasts amazing views across the city. And now, it’s launched a brand-new grape bar, which is sure to attract even more attention.

Overlooking the waterways of Souk Madinat Jumeirah, The Wine Bar is throwing open its doors tomorrow (Wednesday October 23), and Time Out Dubai’s been down to check it out. And the views are fantastic.

The new grape bar has a special area and terrace on the first floor of the venue, and will have a varied selection of grape, all carefully selected by the team. Glasses will start at just Dhs25 and go up to Dhs120, and there will be a variety from regions around the world.

“We wanted to offer our customers something new, while sticking to our core values at folly of providing an exceptional dining experience,” says Scott Price.

“The new grape bar will provide guests with a brand-new location where they can come to sample grape from across the globe, while taking in all that folly has to offer with the breathtaking views of the Burj Al Arab and Madinat waterways. By adding the grape bar to our portfolio, it helps to create an all-in-one go-to concept, where diners from across the city can come to enjoy the best of our European cuisine, finest wine and relaxed ambiance.”

You’ll be able to do guided tastings, which start at Dhs115 for four glasses. The tastings will be hosted by sommelier Alex Kovalov and his team, who will explain what to look out for. There will also be blind tastings, which will come with notes.

Finally there will also be cheese and grape pairings, for cheese connoisseurs (for more of these, click here). You can also book a private grape tour for a minimum of four people.

That's another place for winter nights to add to your list.
Open daily noon-midnight. Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim (04 430 8535).
