Burger & Lobster
Time Out Says
As you walk in, you have to pass the lobsters, waiting patiently in their tanks. There are also lobster traps hanging on the walls and covering the windows – just in case you needed reminding of what you’ll be served here.
The large bar area is separate from the rest of the restaurant and the bar itself takes up much of the space. Thankfully, though, there are plenty of tables, leather sofas and stools lining it. It’s all very industrial-looking, with exposed brick walls covered in paintings of (again) lobsters and low-hanging lights with retro bulbs.
On the drinks menu you’ll find a list of grape varieties and hops from around the world, as well as mixed drinks, some of which are unique to the venue and have been designed to pair with either a burger or lobster. And there are milkshakes for those with a sweet tooth, too.
Staff are friendly and will talk you through the menu if you’re not completely sure of what to order, suggesting their favourites from the selection.
This is the kind of bar you’d want to recline in after a tough day or come to for a catch-up with pals, as the music isn’t too loud and there are a only a couple of TVs screening sports – it certainly doesn’t feel like the place to head if watching the match is on your agenda.
You’ll just want to enjoy the chilled-out atmosphere, and if cow or crustacean tickles your fancy, you’re quids in.
The Bottom Line
Industrial bar serving imaginative drinks.
