Time Out Says
Progress is finally being made on the rest of The World islands, but for now Lebanon remains the only place open to the public. Taking cabanas up a notch, its collection of beach chalets offer a level of privacy to make the island almost feel like your own. There are two beaches – one with more of a party vibe than the other – both accessed by the main pontoon, shuttling people in by boat or plane. Breaking up the day on a desert island isn’t easy, but The Royal Island offers kayaking hire should you wish to explore the network of waterways that link the archipelago. Just don’t try and make it back to the mainland – it’s further than you think. At night, the venue morphs into Toro Blanco, a Mediterranean barbecue restaurant with live entertainment until midnight.
