Andalucia Tapas & Grill
Time Out Says
However, if you’re not in the mood for sitting outside, or want to be where the party’s at, take a seat indoors at Andalucia.
This cavernous, auditorium-esque tapas bar has a lively, friendly vibe and the bar gets busy as the post-work crowd comes rolling in.
We join in by kicking back at a low-slung table and ordering in some tapas, (which is, by the way, fantastic so get involved).
While we tuck into some pimientos do Padrón, patatas bravas and some delicious manchego-stuffed deep-fried pastries, more people begin to fill the bar (possibly owing to the two-for-one promotion on one of its premium hops), and there’s barely a spare table in sight.
If there is, it’s likely to be because everyone is up and dancing – and if that’s not case pre-10pm then it definitely is afterwards.
A three-piece Colombian band take to what is a hugely elevated stage up and blast out every Latin song you’ve ever heard – including the theme tune to Narcos, and of course, Despacito (really? Still?).
The night can easily escape from you thanks to the upbeat, fun vibe and partygoing crowd.
Drinks prices are fairly keen – with Spanish mixed beverages coming in at Dhs42 and house grape at a pocket-friendly Dhs34. Mixed drinks sit between Dhs60 and Dhs75, while bottles of hops hover around the Dhs30 mark. Plus, every Tuesday ladies get five free drinks and 30 percent off food, which is worth a look.
The service is swift all night, for the best part managing the peak periods well. The tapas is expert, and the drinks aren’t going to leave a hole in your wallet, so if you’re after a Spanish-style fiesta, don’t miss a trip to Jebel Ali.
