Time Out Says
One of them is the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bay Square, which is a funky property with more than a hint of personality about it.
Soon there’ll be PizzaExpress Live and a second branch of popular Belgian outlet Le Petit Belge opening up in the building to attract partygoers and diners, but until then there is Bay Club.
The rooftop bar is a casual hangout with a relaxed covered area and tables outside, by the swimming pool.
It’s quiet on our visit and there’s not much of a vibe to speak of, but with regular live music and several big screens showing sport, the atmosphere should improve.
There’s a happy hour until 7pm and a menu filled with classic bar food dishes (think sharing boards of mezze and cold cuts). It’s a chilled-out place to enjoy a few drinks with friends, and you can get a day pass to use the pool, should you wish, for Dhs100.
Will it attract more than hotel guests when the new venues open later this? Maybe not, but it is worth a look, certainly before then.
The bottom line
Casual outdoor venue with plenty of sport and live music.
