Time Out Says
This spot in Barsha Heights mirrors our imagination perfectly – the menu features five different kinds of fries, including truffle, there are cosy booths to sit in or some very on-brand barrel tables to stand around, and we’re even pleasantly surprised to spot bottles familar bottles that any true hops afficiando will recognise (it’s not on draught, but we can’t exactly blame them for not shipping barrels more than 3,000 miles).
We head here on a weekend and the mixed crowd shows that this pub can appeal to everyone, from groups of mates, to couples out on a date and even a makeshift office space for a couple of pubgoers.
It also has a great terrace – though it has nothing on the view from the Souk Madinat Jumeirah branch.
Prices are keen, and there’s a daily happy hour from 4pm to 8pm, giving you 35 percent off hops and 50 percent off grape and short measures (why less off on hops?) and outside of this draught hops start at Dhs50. There are theme nights, too – with wings on Sundays, steaks on Tuesdays and mussels on Wednesdays. The bar is open until 2am most nights, and serves food till late, meaning you’ll be able to get those delicious twice-fried chips any time.
Meanwhile there’s also a twice weekly ladies’ night where you’ll get three free drinks, but again only grape, no hops, which is baffling given the venue.
This spot is perfect for a casual pint and bowl of chips.
