Belgian Café, Dubai Festival City
Time Out Says
Its interiors are similar, as you’d expect, to other branches in the city, though there’s a slightly fresher feel to the place – probably due to the massive windows, which during the day heap natural light on the room.
Inside it’s laid-back and homely, and is very much about Belgian dining, too, with steaming pots of mussels leaving the kitchen at a steady rate. The drinks menu has plenty of Belgian hops, as you’d imagine, too, so if that’s what you’re looking for, search no further.
However, with the cooler weather on our doorsteps, the terrace is really where you want to be. With both dining tables and high bar stools the massive al fresco space has plenty of room to sit and set the world to rights over a pint. The views across the water make for a relaxed vibe too.
It’s reasonably priced, but there’s also a happy hour from Sunday Wednesday from 6pm until 7pm where you’ll get 50 percent off drinks, as well as a bucket deal with five bottles of hops for Dhs150 that runs every day from noon until 11pm.
Festival City might not be on your must list for nightlife, but for a chilled-out drink, it’s a decent place to while away a lazy Saturday afternoon – or for a much-needed sit-down post-IKEA.
