Belgian Café Madinat Jumeirah
Time Out Says
The city’s soft spot for the Euro-style pubs shows no sign of waning and it’s no wonder why with exceptional experiences on offer at each branch.
This week, we’re at the Madinat Jumeirah outpost where the views not only outdo the other two, but they’re arguably some of the best across Dubai.
Once you meander your way through the souks, ascend the creaking wooden staircase and find the outside terrace you’ll be rewarded handsomely with unrivalled views across the Madinat’s winding waterways with the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah beaming in the background. It’s a vista that attracts a healthy crowd throughout the evening, with the sunset providing the picture perfect setting for a post-work or pre-dinner beverage.
However, if you’re planning on making a night out of it you’ll find plenty to keep you occupied. Saturdays deliver two-for-one drinks as the resident DJ plays pop rock hits, you’ll find a 30 percent off happy hour between 3pm and 8pm on Thursday followed by a live band and DJ, while Wednesdays and Fridays are ladies’ night, where you can enjoy three free drinks or spend Dhs100 for unlimited beverages and a platter of Belgian bites.
Speaking of food, be sure to order a portion of the mussels. Expect a vat of shellfish cooked in a choice of sauces – from classic garlic and cream to a more experimental Thai red curry – and Belgian frites. Combine the two with another sunset drinks and you’ve found the ideal evening.
We told you good things come in threes.
