Cielo Sky Lounge
Time Out Says
For views across the Creek and out to the ever-changing Dubai skyline, it’s still hard to beat Cielo Sky Lounge.
Few venues offer such an outlook on the city, but from this longstanding bar’s perch on the rooftop at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, this al fresco spot nails it.
It neighbours outdoor hotspots Boardwalk (directly below, which is worth a visit, too, being our Best Outdoor Restaurant 2018) and QD’s, the popular bar, restaurant and shisha lounge. And as the sun sets this place really comes into its own – particularly at weekends, when you’ll find the sundowner crowd slowly drifting in.
It may not be for everyone, but it certainly attracts those seeking Ibiza-style vibes, with its blue and white décor delivering Balearic vibes, particularly when paired with music from the bar’s DJ. The vibe is upbeat and suitably trendy, too.
There isn’t a happy hour to speak of, so the bill can quickly add up if you plan to linger, but it’s no more expensive than you’d expect for such a venue and the setting, with drinks at around the Dhs60 mark.
For ladies looking for a night on the tiles that’s a little bit more wallet-friendly, be sure to visit on a Tuesday for a midweek party, where you’ll get free-flowing Spanish mixed beverages from 10pm until 1am.
As the night goes on the bar develops from laid-back sundowners to an upbeat nightspot attracting well-heeled partgoers, with regular DJ nights and events.
It may be slightly more expensive than some spots, but it’s worth it for the setting. And what a setting it is.
