Time Out Says
Between the outlandish splendour of Cavalli Club and Armani Privé and the unpretentious but boisterous nature of Waxy’s and Rock Bottom Café, it’s easy to forget about the city’s more low-key bars. But they’re out there, and Cin Cin is one of the finest.
It’s housed in The Fairmont hotel, so you know it’s going to be pricey walking in. And sure enough, if you splash Dhs95 on the burger platter you’ll find yourself biting into the tiniest chunks of cow you’ve ever seen. But what chunks! They may just be the tastiest slivers of beef in Dubai, and the truffle-flavoured chips (like we said; it’s The Fairmont) are spectacular. However, whether you’d want to splash that kind of money, even on burgers this tasty, is a decision that only you, your conscience and your bank manager can make.
If you’re buying on a budget, it’s probably better to forego the food and use that money to choose from the bar’s wide selection of vintages. Whatever your predilection, Cin Cin will definitely have something to suit your taste and – hopefully – your wallet. The atmosphere is relaxed and hushed, making it an excellent place for a quiet tête-à-tête or a chilled group chat, but livens up on a Thursday when the post-office, pre-weekend business types roll in. Just save up your fils before you go.
