Club Se7en

Bur Dubai club with live music and impressive décor

Time Out Says

Many already know it as the brand-new home of much-loved alternative night Metal Asylum, but there’s plenty more to like about Club Se7en than just rock music. The decor, though marginally tacky, is quite impressive, with a colour-changing bar and an expansive, well-equipped stage, and there’s a great Filipino house band who entertained us with an enjoyable rendition of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ‘Otherside’.

It’s unfortunate then, that a rather too low-key marketing campaign has meant this club rarely fills up, despite there being plenty of room for punters. Both the drinks and snacks menus cater to a wide range of tastes, with Pinoy dishes and fruit platters on offer alongside fish and chips and spare ribs. As for the drinks, there are pages and pages of different options, from mixed drinks to hops and everything in between. The prices are at the higher end of the city’s average, at Dhs29 for a bottle of hop beverage: based on our drinking experiences around town, we’d expect to pay between Dhs25 and Dhs32 for a similar drink. Any more than that and you may as well buy a pint.

Prices aside, and given its location not too far from fellow live music venue The Music Room, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Club Se7en give its more mature neighbour a run for its money over coming months.
