Time Out Says
The bar itself is long and lined with comfy leather barbershop-style chairs instead of stools. They’re a great novelty, but when the bar is busy, they could make getting served difficult if you’re trying to squeeze between them to order your drink.
It’s not quite there yet, though, and you’re almost guaranteed one of those seats. And if you and your pals bag them, the friendly staff will quickly strike up conversation. If you don’t, there’s a mix of other places to sit, from the sofas tucked away around the corner to some tables and chairs around the stage.
A live band play Cuban beats and the music policy remains the same when they’re not playing. When you want a break from it all, a small terrace outside offers a nice change of scene.
There’s a good selection of Latin American hops on offer and, of course, Cuban mixed drinks, plus a separate menu for cigars – this is a Cuban bar, after all.
A paper cone full of peanuts aims to ensure you don’t go hungry, but there are more substantial bites on the menu, such as empanadas and a variety of tapas if you do.
Cubano Lito is a welcome change on the Dubai bar scene. It’s worth a visit, even if just for the music.
The Bottom Line
An authentic-looking Cuban bar with a decent selection of drinks.
