One of our favourite new(ish) Italian restaurants also has a pretty impressive bar at its centre. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday night you’ll likely be met with a busy dining room and great vibe. The small bar serves as somewhere for diners to take a break from their table and smoke (yes, it’s smoky in here) or have a drink pre- or post-dinner. However, we absolutely recommend making a visit regardless of whether you’re eating (though we’d question that decision, too).
The bar is well-stocked and its staff have a few mixed drink specialities they can make. If grape is more your thing there’s plenty to choose from, while Italian hops are available, too.
Bartenders are excellent, though, so feel free to leave your choices up to them and we’re confident you won’t be disappointed.
It’s quieter midweek, but again, we don’t really mind that, as the team here are affable and talkative, so it’s never lacking in atmosphere. The décor is pretty funky and industrial compared to most Italian restaurants in the city, which lends an air of cool to the venue that we like.
In fact, we’re big fans of this place.
The bottom line
A restaurant bar that’s worth seeking out.
