Drai’s Dubai

Perfect for a day-to-night out on the tiles

Time Out Says

Drai’s has made its way over from Las Vegas, where its reputation is massive, and it’s fair to say that our expectations are high. It’s the latest club to open as part of the massive development at Meydan Racecourse, joining superclub Soho Garden, which has been quite dubbed one of the city’s hottest new nightlife destinations, as well as the new 8,000-capacity venue Soho Beach and soon-to-open Toy Room Dubai.

The day-to-night party spot opened in February and has already hosted a string of huge acts including US star Nelly, Craig David and Trey Songz.

The venue is open for a bit of poolside lounging during the day, before turning into a lively party spot by night, which is when we pay our visit for a Friday night boogie in the open air.

On arrival, a whopping Drai’s sign sets the tone for what is to come. There’s a scattering of tables and couches on one side, a fancy-looking bar on the other, and a sizable swimming pool in the middle.

The place is heaving and the impeccably dressed crowd aren’t shy about hitting the dancefloor and letting loose to some hip-hop. There’s an electric buzz and everyone is having a brilliant time.

This is definitely a spot for Dubai’s party-lovers and as the night goes on it shows no signs of slowing down. There’s an upper tier of VIP cabanas, but the party is in full swing below.

As you’d expect, drinks aren’t cheap, but they’re not eye-watering, at around Dhs60, which, given the swanky venue, seems reasonable.

There’s a bit of bustle, but still enough room to execute a bit of body-popping. Drai’s hasn’t seen the last of us, that’s for sure.

The bottom line
Perfect for a day-to-night out on the tiles.
