Subtlety has no place on the Dubai nightlife circuit. You need to be seen in all the right places if you want to establish yourself as a social butterfly with cash to splash.
Book a limousine for a weekend and follow Time Out’s bling party tour. Say hello to the high life and goodbye to your savings.
Buddha Bar: Start your evening of high-rolling in the home of bling: the Grosvenor House. The dark and moody décor, combined with the pricey drinks list, make this a suitably fabulous place to pose with your fellow moneyed chums while congratulating yourselves on your amazing lives. Or, just somewhere nice to go after payday.
Rooftop Terrace: Stop number two is a breath of fresh air after starting off in the almost pitch black of the Buddha Bar. Climb, well, take the lift unless you want to ruin your air of wealth, to the top of the Le Royal Mirage and sit back in one of the city’s most popular Arabic inspired watering holes. Book ahead for a table if you’re planning on turning up after 7pm or if you are in a big party.
Skyview Bar: The high-rolling bling route just wouldn’t be the same without a stop-off at the Burj Al Arab. You know that a bar is for the seriously moneyed when it contains the world’s most expensive cocktail on its drink’s menu. Even if you don’t have the Dhs27,321 to spare you should be dressed to impress and ready to spend. In return for your well earned money you will be afforded a spectacular view of the Dubai coast from 200m above Wild Wadi.
Vu’s Bar: If getting high is your main concern then you should make Vu’s Bar your next stop. Up on the 51st floor of the Emirates Towers it is the highest bar in Dubai and offers all the elevated ambition you would expect of that honour. A dress code will apply but anybody on this party route needn’t worry about that.
Cin Cin: Make the journey across Sheikh Zayed Road (ideally in your limousine) before hopping out at the ever-so-pleasant Fairmont. Head up from the lobby to Cin Cin and you’ve got spot number five on your high-rolling tour of Dubai. This is another wine enthusiast’s favourite so order your usual tipple, sit back, and enjoy the ambiance.
400 Club: Where else would you finish off the bling route than this Fairmont Hotel nightclub. Surround yourself with fellow achievers and congratulate yourself on a life of extravagant spending.
Don’t forget to get a shawarma on the way home. You’ll never get too big for them.
