Time Out Says

Gotha opened its doors in March, and it’s been the name on everyone’s lips ever since. And for all that word might connote angsty teenagers clad in black, the slick venue itself couldn’t be further from grungy if it tried.

The French import is fresh out of Cannes, and it’s every bit the glam and glitzy establishment that you’d expect. At 14,000 sq ft, and set over three floors, we’re looking at a club that’s roughly the equivalent size of three basketball courts.

There are eight elevated VIP areas, with 55 tables collectively and mega views out across the dancefloor, while the main bar, measuring a whopping 15 metres in length, sprawls across the ground level.

We’re entranced by the dozens of bulbs hanging from the ceiling that pulse and change colour and the neon lighting throughout gives it a clubby feel.

Tables line the borders of a cosy-ish dancefloor (which soon fills up) and face onto a large stage that dominates a good portion of the space. The club itself doesn’t feel massive when you’re inside, but we like that about it and the vibe is an exclusive one.

So far Gotha has played host to global artists including the likes of Diddy, Tiësto, Ludacris and Conor Maynard and every week another act seems to be being announced.

And when it doesn’t have a musical mega-act at the helm, the tunes are a mix of current R&B peppered with a load of old classics. It’s lively and the impeccably dressed crowd absolutely love it – as do we.

Drinks aren’t cheap, but we reckon it’s worth it for the overall experience. It’s safe to say Gotha is an excellent new addition to Dubai’s club scene.

The bottom line
A slick destination for the party crowd.
