Hendricks Bar

A chilled-out lounge with an interesting mixed drinks menu

Time Out Says

When the mood strikes for a sophisticated, yet relaxed, drink at an old-school bar, it’s time to head to Hendricks.

The bar is moodily lit and is all deep purple furnishings and dark woods. It has a gentlemen’s smoking lounge feel to it – upmarket, yet comfortable and relaxed – without being overly masculine (ladies, you won’t feel out of place here).

The lighting is low, making it a good date night spot for a pre-dinner drink. And it gets surprisingly busy for a hotel bar, set just off the lobby of the fancy Four Seasons Dubai Resort at Jumeirah Beach.

As there’s a huge selection of top restaurants at the hotel – Scalini, Nusr-Et, COYA Dubai et al – you should certainly start here and make a night of it.

The drinks menu is extensive and interesting – so take the time to read it – and the creations are extravagant. However, if you fancy something more low-key there’s a decent range of grape and a huge selection of juniper drinks, too. There’s also a daily happy hour deal, which is worth taking advantage of as prices are on the upper end of the scale.

If you’re looking for a cosy spot for an interesting mixed drink, Hendricks is for you.

The bottom line
Ideal for pre-dinner drinks.
