Time Out Says
From the moment you enter, you can tell that you’re in for an alternative night. Making your way up the stairs you’re greeted with an neon sign beaming ‘Nothin’ to see here’ – we’re intrigued an, of course, automatically want to see more.
Boasting to be a “club for the people” with the primary focus being the music, the cool spot is home to two weekly nights.
Thursday nights mean STEEZY, which has become a go-to outing for fans of RnB, hip-hop, trap and grime. The urban night features tunes from DJ Crown Prince and a series of other local talent and it draws in a crowd of the city’s serious hip-hop aficionados.
If you’re more a fan of house then Fridays are the night for you. SESH focuses on deep house and techno with resident DJ, Adam Cotier – and the occasional special guest – hitting the decks.
The venue itself is warehousey with its stripped-back décor, exposed vents and minimalist vibes. With a big dancefloor looking on to the DJ booth it’s clear that the space was set up with music in mind.
Also housed in Industrial Avenue is The Shoreditch. Inspired by the cool East London area, expect graffiti, quirky pop art and games such as hops pong, video games, and a huge Connect Four-style game and even an indoor hops garden.
Drinks here are reasonable and there are deals aplenty, including free post-brunch drinks every Friday for all.
For an alternative night out and back-to-basics clubbing, it’s top.
