Inner City Zoo
Time Out Says
Inner City Zoo is one of the many new nightlife openings on the JBR scene over the past few months, and it’s definitely a welcome addition.
Situated in the Rixos Premium Dubai, the vibe of this nightclub is super-swish. Beautiful people come here to mill, have a good dance and pose for a few obligatory selfies.
Following the zoo theme, there are cages where the clubs’ dancers perform in elaborate outfits. Inner City Zoo offers a really fun night out. The crowd is enthusiastic and raring to go and the dancers look like they’re having a whale of a time.
Music is lively, alternating between chart, R&B and the odd dance tune. Our only frustration is that the songs seem to skip halfway through, which doesn’t go down well while we’re getting into the groove.
The club is separated into different areas, with a VIP section where well-heeled patrons lounge with buckets of bubbly. There’s a spacious central dancefloor, and we take advantage of the area to bust out the moves like nobody’s watching – which of course they are.
Despite this, it’s pretty compact, but we like the intimate feel (and short sashay to the bar).
It’s stylish, and there are state-of-the-art sound and light systems (with 91 LED screens, eight strobes, lasers, smoke machines and 1,187 lights in just the ceiling alone), which add to the clubby vibe – and make you feel like you’re dancing really fast.
Drinks are surprisingly reasonably priced, and Tuesdays mean free drinks for ladies.
If you’re able to overlook the be-there-to-be-seen vibe (or if you like a bit of posing yourself), then you’re guaranteed to have a good time at this super-glam new club.
The bottom line
Swanky spot for a dance (and maybe a selfie).
