Time Out Says
Set on the ground floor of the complex, just next to the ticket office of the famous racecourse, the all-outdoor venue has a prime position, with sprawling views towards Downtown Dubai. Lighting is moody, the vibe is buzzing and it’s full of people looking for a laid-back but fun night. There are larger booth areas as well as plenty of high tables too. We suggest you book ahead and take advantage of a seat to try some of the bar food, which is excellent. Sushi is super-fresh and tasty, while the mini veggie burgers are spot on in terms of flavour and spice.
We don’t often give mention to bathrooms, but these are too cool to be ignored. Individual pods pump out music for a disco-loo vibe. It’s cool, it’s different and it’s modern. Continuing with the contemporary theme, holographic birds and butterflies are projected on to walls, which is a fun touch.
There’s live music throughout the week, including on a Saturday night, as well as a Friday afternoon brunch and a late brunch from 3pm until 8pm on a Saturday, which provides top sunset views across town so there’s plenty of reason to visit.
Iris is known for its inventive mixed drinks, while there’s also a decent choice of shorts, hops and grape.
Service is attentive, the atmosphere is welcoming and the décor is cool.
With cluster a of superclubs in the area, Iris is a topspot to start the night, but it’s also well worth a visit for a night out in its own right, if you prefer a more relaxed bar vibe to soak in those views. Meydan is rapidly becoming a hub for cool nights out, and Iris is well up there.
WHAT IS IT...
Popular Lebanese bar that’s now at Meydan
Fun vibes, top views and an alterative to a superclub if you’re in the area. Plus the loos are cool, too
