Karma Kafé

A cool Asian lounge with top fountain views and moody interiors

Time Out Says

From the creators of the world-famous Buddha-Bar chain, it’s easy to see the link at Karma Kafé, both in décor and vibe.

As you walk in, the moody atmosphere and furnishings – all reds and blacks – set you up for a cool, classy night out.

The lounge area is always busy, ranging from a pleasant buzz to a proper party vibe, depending on when you visit.

Comfy chairs and sofas allow for intimate conversation on a relaxed evening, or take a seat at the bar and people-watch. A live DJ and cranked-up music later on ensure the atmosphere is upbeat and fun.

The Asian-inspired mixed drinks menu is creative and interesting, plus, if you’re not dining (although we recommend you do, the restaurant is excellent) there’s a top range of bar bites, too (don’t miss the dim sum, it’s delicious).

The restaurant also affords amazing views over The Dubai Fountain, if you sit outside in cooler months. Comfortably cool inside (both in temperature and in vibe) the lounge is a great place to visit in its own right, though.

A night here doesn’t come cheap, as you’d expect, but the quality and location is worth the price tag for a special evening.

The bottom line
Inventive drinks and an excellent view.
