Le Petit Belge Motor City

A buzzing expansion of the wildly popular Belgian bar

Time Out Says

For JLTers, last year’s arrival of Belgian hops bar Le Petit Belge’ was something of a game changer. It sparked new life into the area’s nightlife scene and those who live in the area love it.

So, when the city’s third branch  – joining a second in Business Bay – opened earlier this year in Motor City, local residents were excited by the prospect.

And rightly so. The Business Bay one has been a bit of a damp squib on our visits, but the Motor City one is buzzing.

If you’ve been to either of the other two branches, you’ll feel at ease by the familiar branding and design of this place.

It feels like the JLT original has been picked up, moved over to Motor City and popped back down again – albeit with a little bit of a rearrange.

And the same deals have come, too. The popular Wednesday ladies’ night has proved just as much of a draw here as in JLT. Ladies get three free drinks with the option of unlimited beverages for Dhs100. If you’re a bloke, however, it’s not as good as there’s no happy hour that we can find.

That slight disappointment aside (there are still spot deals on Belgian hops) this is a bar worth visiting. It’s trendy, it’s lively and you’re in for a decent bit of bar food if you fancy a nibble – we particularly recommend the LPB nachos, they’re top-notch.

The drinks list is as extensive as you’d expect, so if you’re after hops this is the place for you.

Music is audible yet unintrusive, but anyone who knows this Belgian chain knows it’s a bar full of nattering, laughter and generally good vibes. The service is, on the whole, as hospitable as you could hope for, too.

Despite being on the pricey side, this is definitely one to visit.

The bottom line
Another top location for the Belgian bar.
