Time Out Says
As soon as you step through the doorway of the cool new bar you’ll be bowled away by the décor. As is the trend (we’re looking at you Hotel Cartagena, The London Project and Eve Penthouse & Lounge) the interiors are fully decked out with more foliage that you can shake a stick at (and there are plenty to be found, should you want to).
It’s cool and classy, and has a fun, upbeat party atmosphere. It also hosts a packed-out ladies’ night and fun brunch, complete with feather-clad dancers for a carnival atmosphere.
Mama Zonia promises Amazonian vibes and though there’s plenty of greenery, outside it’s typical Pier 7, with its stunning views across the Marina. Take a seat overlooking the glistening water and graceful yachts and you’ll feel even further from the jungle. However, the pumping music and inventive menu will help allay any fears that you’ve left the party.
Mixed drinks are creative and not eye-wateringly expensive and staff are well versed in the menu and make helpful recommendations throughout.
If you fancy getting a snack while you’re there – and we absolutely suggest you do, the restaurant took home the gong for our Best Casual Newcomer 2019 too – make sure it’s the fresh, zingy ceviche or scallop sushi, which are both utterly delicious.
Whether you’re looking for a lively night out with the ladies, or a swish new date night spot with your partner, Mama Zonia is the one you want to visit.
