McGettigan's Madinat Jumeirah
Time Out Says
Your journey will no doubt take you through winding waterways, busy souk stalls and even down amphitheatre steps, but once you step inside, the cosy Irish pub vibes remain the same, and as ever, we find them nothing short of charming.
The terrace boasts top views, while indoors is cavernous, yet retains its homely feel, and there’s a bit of a dancefloor should the feeling strike.
When we drop in the only people dancing are kids, and there’s a definite family feel to this branch of McGettigan’s as opposed to the livelier JLT venue.
Drinks come in at around Dhs40 for a glass of grape and bottles of hops, and women get four free drinks every Tuesday for ladies’ night.
As usual, the crowd is a bit of a mixed bag, with holiday makers, older groups, couples and younger partygoers mixing happily for a chilled out drink.
It’s not heaving, but it’s not dead either, and if you’re in the area it’s as good a place as any to wet your whistle and chew the fat.
