Trader Vic's JBR opens serving Tiki drinks and bites

The brand-new Polynesian bar is serving up Tiki drinks and bites

1/8

Lovers of tropical mixed drinks and Polynesian tidbits, listen up, the new Trader Vic’s in JBR is now open.

The popular Polynesian bar is located in the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, on the first floor, with a terrace overlooking the sea.

Tiki-style mixed drinks and live music will be the order of the day, plus a daily happy hour from 5pm until 8pm.

Those looking to dine can dig into the bar’s signature dishes, including Trader Vic’s curries, grills, and Time Out Dubai’s favourite – jalapeño cheese balls.

The kitchen has a Chinese wood-fired oven, which at this venue will be in a glass-walled viewing box. And there are several dishes exclusive to the JBR branch, including barbecue whole sea bream, seafood garlic noodles and Korean barbecue beef for two.

As well as Polynesian décor inside, there’s also a terrace for al fresco dining, as well as booths for larger groups and a stage area, ready for the live music, which will play six nights a week.

The team has gone all out with the interiors, with canoes from the Taiwanese Orchid Island hanging from the ceiling, tribal masks for Papua New Guinea on the walls, fishing net orbs from Japan above tables and hand-crafted tiki statues.

The brand, which was established in 1934, has formed a massive following over the years, and this hot new location is set to be a cracker.

Created by Vic “The Trader” Bergeron, there are now multiple locations around the world, including London, Seychelles, San Francisco and Munich. There are also six in the UAE. This is a third outlet for Dubai, with other branches in Souk Madinat Jumeirah and Crowne Plaza Sheikh Zayed Road.

We'll see you there.

Open Sun-Sat 5pm-3am. Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, JBR (04 318 2530).
