Funky Asian speakeasy bar coming to Dubai

The Unlucky Cat promises full moon parties, mid-week drunch and more

A brand-new bar is coming to Business Bay, and it looks amazing.

One of the city’s quirkiest, funkiest and generally fun-loving Asian restaurants, Miss Tess, has announced standalone bar The Unlucky Cat. The bar is being described as reminiscent of “the hidden backstreet speakeasies of Asia”, promising “a truly immersive” and lively experience.

Launching on Thursday April 5, The Unlucky Cat is located at the Taj Dubai hotel in Business Bay, separate to its sister restaurant. It’s a dimly-lit, chilled little bar where you’ll be able to kick back and take your pick from a range of Asia-inspired mixed drinks which the bar says will be made for you in a “distinctive and alternative fashion”.

Some exciting events have been promised, and the bar is talking big about its weekly line-up including a gents’ night, a ladies’ night (which also has offers for gents), a mid-week drunch session, and a full-moon party-style night called By the Bucket on Thursdays. But that’s not all, more information is coming soon, but the bar is serving up the intriguingly named “A Night in Bangkok” on Friday, and another one called “Balls – Escape to the Disco” on a Saturday.

The one we’re looking forward to though, is on a Sunday. Bring in a postcard or currency from your travels, and be rewarded with drink on the house.

This is one we can’t wait to check out, and one that you should get on to your list of new bars to check out. Speaking of which, here are some new bars to check out
