Crusading around Comic Con as a robot/superhero/villain all day is thirsty work, and even Darth Vader likes to wind down with something cool and refreshing after a long day of terrorising his enemies. Luckily there are a load of bars on the doorstep of Dubai World Trade Centre for man, elf and orc to wet their whistles and unwind after a day on the rampage. We’ve put five of them below, now how do you say cheers in Elvish?
This funky semi-al fresco bar opened to great fanfare in 2017, and has made something of an impact on the DIFC scene. It’s bright and spacious, and there’s a huge sphere-based lighting rig that looks cool. It turns clubby at the end of the week, so Thursday night is probably your best bet if you’re looking for a pumping soirée.

Headlines is on the doorstep of Dubai World Trade Centre, so close in fact that it would be rude not to. You’ll find live music here and a great ambiance will a relaxed vibe. There’s also a great food menu stretching across multiple cuisines, should you get peckish after a full day tearing around at Comic Con.

INDIE Restaurant & Lounge
Indie is a top spot whether you’re after a casual drink, a pumping Thursday night bash or a bite to eat with some live music http://www.timeoutdubai.com/nightlife. It’s industrial, stripped back vibe has been blended with the essence of a lounge bar to create a cool and unique venue. We like it, and you will, too.

Jekyll & Hyde
This English-themed bar tries hard with its quirky décor, with comic book-decorated tables and high leather stools. There’s a good happy hour, offering buy one, get one free on a number of drinks every day from 11am until 8pm, and a pool table to help you while away a few hours. In a district full of swanky, trendy bars, this is a casual, relaxed hangout.

Head to McGettigan’s DWTC for a lively post-event buzz with a diverse and friendly crowd just a stone’s throw away from Dubai World Trade Centre. It’s not exactly cheap – a pint of hops will set you back Dhs43 with a glass of grape ringing in at Dhs45 – but there are some good deals to take advantage of – happy hour Sunday to Thursday offering drinks from Dhs29, 2pm to 7pm, and That Thirst-Day Feeling with drinks from Dhs19 every Thursday from 4pm to 9pm, being just two.
