Cavalli Club opens secret jazz bar up to the public

The hidden room will be open to guests for just three weeks

Stealing away into a secret jazz room all sounds very 1920s New York, but there’s one stashed away in Dubai and it’s open to the public for three nights only.

The hidden bar is tucked away in the rafters of Cavalli Club and from this Friday (April 27) you will be able to peruse the private room while enjoying live music from Stereo Swing.

The secret bar, called Blasé, will open twice more on Friday May 4 and Friday May 11 serving signature mixed drinks and dishes from the lounge menu in an intimate atmosphere.

Performing a unique mix of popular ’20s to ’50s jazz and swing classics, as well as rearranged pop songs, Stereo Swing are ones to watch on Dubai’s music scene.

The band will be performing live on stage between 10.30pm and 3am, and we can’t wait to get tapping our feet.

Available dishes include Cavalli sushi, homemade Wagyu beef gyoza with truffle oil, king prawn tempura and Malaysian chicken satay skewers. We are impressed.

The room is usually used as a VIP private room and reserved for private parties and frivolities of rich people but now the doors have been swung open for the rest of us – and we intend to take full advantage.

Free entry. Fri Apr 27. Fri May 4, Fri May 11, 8.30pm-3am. Fairmont Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road (050 991 0400).
