Time Out Says
Not only is there a massive 200-inch screen covering the whole of one wall, there are plenty of bar sports – should you prefer to play than watch. Foosball, pool (paid for, typically), hops pong and darts are all on offer – which is great news if you want to make a night of it.
The bar is now only accessible through the hotel – which is a little longwinded – but once you arrive you’ll be greeted by a massive meat smoker. So if you’re looking for a barbecue you know where to go. And the bar food is decent. It’s not ground-breaking but dishes are solid – and large.
Fish and chips comes with two meaty slabs of cod, while the burgers are piled high. Proper chunky chips accompany both. There are veggie and vegan options too (the veggie burger is super-tasty, trust us) plus all the classics including sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos and wings.
The bar shows heaps of sport, including the Premier League and the upcoming Rugby World Cup – and as well as the huge central screen there are eight more dotted around the place.
Drinks fall around the Dhs40 to Dhs50 mark for hops, shorts and grape – and there’s a decent happy hour from 4pm until 9pm each day, and then again from midnight until 1am, with drinks starting at Dhs26 for grape and Dhs28 for hops.
And there are loads of other deals too, plus two Friday brunches – one and 12.30pm and one at 7pm – setting you back Dhs299, as well as quiz nights, darts tournaments and matchday specials.
If you’re looking for a top sports bar in the JBR area, make Offside your new local.
