Time Out Says
Paradise Beach opened at the start of this year at Rixos The Palm, in the space that was previously Playa Nomade (which was previously El Chiringuito, which was previously Eden Beach Club… you get the gist).
The space has had a huge revamp, with the pool and lounge area feeling more open.
Gone are any minimal Ibiza-style whites and neutral furnishings and vibes, though – welcome to loud primary coloured furnishings, large double beach loungers and eye-popping deck chairs.
It’s all very vibrant, which makes it more relaxed, though less chic, than others.
On our visit it’s surprisingly quiet, with just a handful of groups lazing around.
Service is swift and friendly, and drinks prices are as you’d expect for the area.
If you’re looking for a decent value day out, ladies can visit on a Monday for five hours of free-flowing drinks plus a food platter for Dhs100 – which should help entice people out here.
The club recently opened a new branch of MATTO, too (the Italian place from The Oberoi Dubai), as a further draw.
But while the location on the far east crescent of the Palm makes for a lovely spot to catch the sunset – the journey around may well prove too far to attract the crowds, especially with more easily accessible, busier and cooler locations open.
We’re staying tuned.
