Madinat's Southern American joint bring chilled vibes and barbecue bites

Time Out Says

Waterside seats, super bar snacks and speedy service – it’s little wonder this little slice of Americana in the Madinat Jumeirah is a hive of activity on Thursday and Friday nights.

Set across two floors, with indoor and outdoor seating on both levels, P&B’s (as it’s known) has thrown everything at its Southern American theme. From the bales of barbed wire hanging over the bar to the Tennessee drinks branding all around it to the barbecue brisket sliders, the only thing missing is punters in spurs and Stetsons. (You’ll be more at home in flip-flops and cargo shorts – plaid shirts entirely optional.)

While the vibe is utterly laid-back (there’s sports on the TVs and kitchen towel on every table), don’t forget P&B’s is
housed within a tourist honeypot, and as a result has the prices to match. You’ll find the best value during happy hour, which runs daily from 5pm to 8pm (with selected drinks for Dhs29) and throughout Saturdays from noon to 2am, pushing this spot up the rankings for a lazy end-of-the-weekend lunch.

For a slice of the South in Umm Suqeim, there’s nowhere better.

The bottom line
Laid-back vibes and barbecue bites worth moseying to the Madinat for.
