Time Out Says
Though predominantly frequented by those staying in the hotel (its weekday barbecue lunch buffet gets packed), residents of the city will also find it worth a recce. (Particularly after a sunny stroll along the Palm’s outer boardwalk – a great way to work up a thirst.)
Service is swift and friendly, and continues to be even when staff are at their busiest, and despite the midday heat, the drinks are cold. Prices are not particularly keen, but this is to be expected from a five-star resort on the Palm, with a standard pint at Dhs55. There are cheaper times to visit, with a daily happy hour from 5pm to 7pm that’s probably worth holding on for. But for a cold pint and a nibble of a few bar bites after an hour pounding the boardwalk, you’ll be glad you popped into Plaj.
The bottom line
Rewarding post-walk pit stop by the sea.
