Qube Sports Bar

A blokey sporty spot that simply does the job

Time Out Says

Before arriving at Qube, the long-standing sports bar at The Meydan Hotel, you may want to check ahead to find the correct entrance. Unless you prefer to spend a frankly bizarre five minutes aboard a golf buggy escorting you from the hotel entrance past the racetrack, down through a car park and towards the pro shop for The Track golf course. It is, however, a fairly enjoyable ride, sheerly for the novelty of it all.

The key selling point – and a rather self-descriptive one – of Qube is the gigantic, four-sided TV screen that lurks imperiously through the middle of this bar.

It’s a spot that’s great for kick-off, obviously, because there are plenty of screens with a view from every angle. And if you’re out with some mates, there are tonnes of bar games about the place, including pool, darts, table football and shuffleboard, all of which are free to play and help to liven up a sports bar that otherwise lacks a bit of cutting edge.

There’s a good happy hour, featuring two-for-one on a range of house beverages, but if you’re not a sports fan, you’re not going to be enamoured by this watering hole that’s frequented almost exclusively by blokes.

The bottom line
Good for sports, but not a destination.
