Time Out Says
But it’s not, it’s apparently Renaissance Italian. Either way, it’s suitably fancy and as we recline into the huge, velvety sofa we feel almost like Italian royalty. All that’s missing is the period drama attire.
The bar is quiet, not that we expected a full-on party, with tables of hotel guests.
In winter there’s a decent terrace with some charming views of the Palm too.
Although it’s a hotel lounge-style bar, the menu really makes up for what it lacks in atmosphere. There’s an extensive list of juniper drinks, each with a recommended flavoured ice cube pairing. The cubes are more the size of small snowballs in fact, scented with fruit and herbs.
It’s a cool touch. It’s less expensive than you might imagine, too, with drinks falling between Dhs50 and Dhs70, plus there’s a daily happy hour where you’ll get two for one from 6pm until 8pm.
We’re pleasantly surprised by the creativity of this mixed drinks bar and for a pre-dinner drink on the Palm it’s worth checking out.
