Time Out Says
Happily, however, on arrival we find there’s nothing daunting about this sleek spot at the chic, longstanding hotel Park Hyatt Dubai in Deira.
No prizes for guessing where Seventy Seventy draws its inspiration from. The ’70s-themed space is kitted-out in retro (in the chicest way possible) décor – faux sheepskin throws, funky-patterned pillows, a wood toned colour-scheme, vinyl et al with smooth jazz playing softly in the background.
Indoors is non-smoking and there’s also cosy terrace area with stunning views overlooking the Creek and the Dubai skyline.
Whether you like it shaken or stirred, you’ll have no problem finding a tipple here – the vast menu consists of more than 100 different types of short measures and an array of classic mixed drinks. It’s not cheap, however, with glasses of grape starting at Dhs75 and shorts around Dhs55.
There’s also a selection of nibbles ranging from truffle pizza to prawn tempura served with wasabi mayonnaise.
Mixed drinks are inventive – think plenty of fresh puréed fruits – and you can tell that a lot of care goes into making them. They come beautifully presented and served with flourish.
If you’re dining at of the hotel’s many top-notch restaurants (Brasserie du Park, NOÉPE and The Thai Kitchen) this is an utterly charming spot for an aperitivo or a sundowner.
