Time Out Says
Seville’s injects a little bit of Costa del Sol into the pyramid-inspired shopping destination. It’s a vast space located on the first floor opposite Marks & Spencer. Inside, the restaurant and bar channels that old Mediterranean feel with dark wooden tables and chairs, a long curved bar serving a range of grapes and hops and red bricked walls decorated with all manner of Spanish paraphernalia such as castanets, ornate hand fans and vintage posters.
The sizeable outdoor terrace is a round-the-clock sun trap and the staff are quick to bring over those glasses of mixed grape. However, prices are steep – with a small glass coming in at Dhs54. There is a weekly ladies’ night and salsa classes with three free drinks, as well as a 4pm to 8pm daily happy hour offer.
Peckish? You’re in safe hands ordering (carefully) off the tapas menu. The slow-braised beef short rib on toast with fried quail eggs and chicken croquettes, are a triumph. However, the patatas bravas are mushy and the “traditional” Catalan salad of iceberg, tomatoes, sweetcorn and four olives is as insulting as the Dhs54 price tag.
While some areas are top, it’s a bit hit and miss overall.
