Time Out Says
Set on decking out over the water, with the Burj Khalifa sitting resplendant in the cityscape backdrop, it’s not-unimpressive location.
This established Japanese bar and restaurant has always been popular, though perhaps less so today. It still boasts that exclusive vibe and excellent views, but now seems slightly faded around the edges.
In darkness, it looks pretty slick, but there’s something not quite there. The bathrooms are grubby and crying out for a makeover, too.
Service at the bar is pleasant, and the vibe is good – despite it being on the quiet side – and there are some pretty good deals all week long. There’s a daily happy hour from 6pm until 9pm where house drinks cost Dhs30, so it’s worth coming to make a night of it, as the pace picks up later on. We visit on a Sunday – where happily it’s ’80s night. Upbeat tunes pump out and we enjoy the music as we sip our drinks. We’re not sure it’s the top-class party spot it once was, but if you’re in the area it’s worth a visit.
The bottom line
Stop by for the views and daily deals.
