The Loft at Dubai Opera
Time Out Says
Formerly Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera (from the acclaimed British chef) the beautiful room – which is themed around an oyster, all greys and pearly pinks – looks the same as it did before. Not that it’s a bad thing, it’s a charming space.
Visit on a show night and you’ll be greeted with the buzz of chatting theatregoers, clinking of glasses and live cooking action from the open kitchens.
And don’t be mistaken in thinking that you have to have a full, fancy meal – as there are some tasty, quick bites on the bar menu (we recommend the four cheese pizza) if you’re after something smaller.
It’s on the pricey side – with drinks and pizzas around Dhs70 – but you’d expect as much for the venue. Careful when ordering though, as the bill can quickly add up.
In winter the terrace area is a gorgeous spot, with several high tables with stools dotted around for a casual drink. The pretty space has plenty of greenery, as well as a view of Burj Khalifa. After dark the vibe is moody, intimate and fairly romantic due to low lighting and a mellow vibe.
Indoors the main bar is large, so pull a comfortable chair and order up a mixed drink and watch the bartenders do their stuff.
The bar is open daily from 5pm and can get quite lively as the night goes on. It’s an elegant space that is ideal for a drink pre- or post-show, or even if you happen to just be in area (although it will be considerably quieter then).
