Time Out Says
With its spectacular vista of the city, The Penthouse has become the go-to spot when it comes to capturing the essence of the city in one pumping nightlife spot.
Skyline views? Check. Glass-fronted pool? Yep. Comfy lounge chairs? It has those too.
Glamorous crowds line up to pose by the glass-fronted edge of the trendy bar – this is a prime spot for Insta.
Chic, trendy and with unrivalled views, you’ll be spitting out picture-perfect hashtagged selfies from the moment you arrive until the second you leave.
It’s split into two sections – the aptly named City View Lounge Terrace, which hosts the day club and pools, and the Marina View Bar Terrace – which offers superb, unobstructed views of the Marina, Ain Dubai and Bluewaters Dubai. It might only be on the 16th floor, but a lack of surrounding skyscrapers means guests can truly appreciate the city for all its modern beauty.
Throughout the week, there are plenty of great nights too. There’s the popular Skyline Thursdays brunch, with a live DJ, as well as Candypants’ Saturday pool party. While ladies who head down on a Tuesday between 8pm and 11pm get three free drinks.
Service is slick, and there’s also a cracking bar menu – so good in fact that it took our Best Bar Food Award 2019. It serves up everything from sliders to sushi, and we highly recommend the tuna pizzas – with slivers of fresh fish served atop crunchy crackers finished with a drizzle of truffly mayo.
The place is always packed, so make sure you reserve a table.
It’s our Bar of the Year with good reason, and now the cooler weather is coming there’s no better time to try it.
