Trésind Lounge

Fine for pre-dinner drinks, but not a spot to make a beeline for

Time Out Says

If you didn’t realise that stylish Indian fusion restaurant Trésind has a lounge area, we aren’t surprised. It’s tiny and doesn’t look much different to the restaurant itself.

The small space has a little corner of soft sofa seats and when we visit, the rest of it is filled with tables draped with white tablecloths. But the space is so tiny that the vibe – while not exactly buzzing – is pleasant despite there being no other guests. Music is quiet enough that you can have a conversation, but not so low that the place feels devoid of atmosphere. The service is good, though perhaps not as slick as you might expect from a bar in a restaurant like Trésind.

Ultimately, it feels very much like a restaurant bar, rather than a nightspot in and of itself. Which isn’t totally a bad thing, but Sheikh Zayed Road isn’t exactly lacking in nightlife so, if you’re not dining, there’s little to coax you to go out of your way.

It’s an image the bar is clearly trying to shed with the introduction of weekly events such as Party Starter every Thursday when, we’re told, they clear out the tables, offer 50 percent off all beverages (which are fairly pricey) and have a DJ pumping out dance tracks. A good start, but not quite enough to entice us back just yet.

The bottom line
Okay for a quiet drink, but nothing special.
