Time Out Says
The bar is set on the rooftop of Taj Dubai, which is accessed through quirky Asian restaurant Miss Tess. If you want to make the most of the chilled-out ambiance of Treehouse, we’d advise sitting further away from the restaurant – unless you want your peace disrupted by giant Chinese dragons dancing around the room and pumping renditions of Happy Birthday.
However, secure yourself a prime spot in the centre of the bar, then you’ll be treated to a more grown-up, mellow vibe.
Treehouse is all comfy sofas, muted tones and swathes of twinkling lights.
And it’s one of the few al fresco bars that doesn’t lose its appeal in summer, either, as during the warmer months a glass tent surrounds it, with even more sparkly fairy lights. But the best time, of course, to visit is in the winter.
To get a decent table you’ll likely need to book, as this is a bar that’s frequently packed out. Service is a little hit and miss, though and costs are on the steep side, especially in comparison to some other bars with better views and keener prices.
A glass of grape comes in at around Dhs75, which is expensive even for the vantage point, with mixed drinks and shorts around the same.
Ladies, it’s wise to visit on a Tuesday and you’ll get two free drinks.
Bar snacks have Asian flair – including the ubiquitous rock shrimp tempura – and all sit between Dhs40 and Dhs125.
With a chilled vibe, fancy décor and decent views, Treehouse is a good one for visitors or date nights, however, with newer, fancier and more affordable bars popping up across the city this Business Bay spot needs to up its game to compete.
