Time Out Says
And it certainly benefits from that at the weekends – but this sports(ish) bar has more strings to its bow than just being a post-brunch hangout. And what you’ll get sort of depends on what you’re after, really.
An expansive bar area adorned by flat screen TVs showing the latest match and neon lights sits centrally, and you won’t have any trouble finding it as your make your way through the recently renovated terrace area, complete with twinkling fairy lights, high bar stools, pub benches and greenery. It’s easy to forget that you’re in the middle of JLT’s most densely populated food and beverage cluster.
Head through, round the corner, to the back of the bar, and you’ll find a couple of pool tables which (while costing a fairly punchy Dhs15 per frame) are in decent nick and accompanied by another couple of screens so you’ll never miss the most miniscule of moments. Prior to your arrival at the miniature pool hall, you’ll longfoot it past a few private booths, again with their own screens.
There’s an all-day everyday happy hour deal (which surely just makes it the price?), which is incredibly affordable – with drinks coming in at between Dhs20 and Dhs28 a pop – not bad at all.
Oh, and if you’re feeling particularly brave, you can attempt the bar’s famous one-metre hot dog challenge. You’ll lose your dignity along the way, but it’s worth it.
